Meditations on 2 Samuel

Meditations on 2 Samuel is Paul Palmer's latest book in his valuable series on the Old Testament. It covers much of the life of David after he was anointed king by Samuel. But this man "after God's heart" was far from perfect. Man's sinful nature is incurable! An amazing thing about the Bible is it doesn't hide man's sin, but clearly shows that once we rely on our thoughts, there is failure around the corner. No biblical character failed more than David yet was blessed by God: what grace does! Name after name comes up to bring home the hard lesson that only obedience brings lasting blessing! This is a very important lesson for us to learn, and how much better to learn it through the experiences of others than to have to go through it oneself.
