The Bride of the Lamb
As the Bride of the Lamb, the Church is viewed as wholly for Christ the object of His love, and care and delight. Hamilton Smith carefully develops that love and purpose tracing the divine plan for the bride in Ephesians 5 where Christ is seen in His care for His bride. He then draws on the types of Adam and Even and Isaac and Rebekah to warm the heart with the rich picture of the purposes of God. As he says, "This unfolding of the love of Christ for His Bride is surely intended to have a very practical effect upon our lives."
