The Book of Joshua, Israel's Conquest of Canaan, Handbook version
The Book of Joshua is a divinely inspired record of Israel's conquest of the land of Canaan - but it is a lot more than that. If we sae the book merely as a historical document, we would miss a lot. There is much New Testament truth regarding th eChristian's portion of blessing in Christ illustrated typologically in the book. When these things are interpreted properly, there is much valuable spiritual instruction for us.
As the reader will see, there is a striking parallel in the warfare in which the children of Israel were engaged in connection with possessing their God-given inheritance in Canaan, and the spiritual warfare which Christians are called to engage in, in order to understand and enjoy their God-given portion in Christ.
