John Stott The Humble Leader
John Stott (1921-2011) was banished from his Sunday school at All Souls, Langham Place, in London, for terrorizing the girls in his class with toy daggers. No-one could have imagined he would become a church leader.
As he grew older, John's father wanted him to join the Diplomatic Service. He would have done well, as he was very clever at French and had a peaceful nature. But one cold February afternoon, while he was still at school, his life changed course. Soon, family ambitions had to take second place, for God called John to serve the Lord Jesus Christ as a minister in the Church of England. After university, John Stott returned to All Souls, first as a curate and then as its rector. Later he was even appointed Chaplain to the Queen.
'Uncle John' wrote 50 books which have been read by millions around the world. He became loved as a pastor, friend and leader in many countries, and was named in TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In this book you will find out why.
