The tabernacle, with all of its parts and furnishings, is one of the Old Testament types and pictures which is full of New Testament truth for our benefit and learning today. The saying that "a picture is worth a thousand words" is true. The Old Testament types are pictures which help us to see and understand the truths that they illustrate. The tabernacle sets the Lord Jesus before us in a special way. We enjoy reading of Him in the Gospels, but the study of the tabernacle can give us a deeper appreciation of Him, and lead to a closer walk with Him. That is His desire.
