Product Description

This Christmas: This Christmas, more new gadgets will land in your home: complicated toys for the children: sophisticated equipment for the computer: the latest must-have electrical device. Getting it all up and running can be so frustrating and that adds to the stress levels of the Festive Season! We are so desperate to get at it that we press on blindly, and the attitude is, ¨When all else fails, read the instructions.¨ Read the instructions. ¨When all else fails, read the instructions.¨ Many have that attitude to life and it's only when it becomes a shambles that they seek help. This may surprise you, but the Bible is an instruction manual for life. Society would be more settled if its instructions were followed. Family relationships would be less fraught if its guidance was taken. Working environments would be tranquil if its directives were obeyed. Generally, its teachings are ignored. In the matter of our relationship with God we dare not ignore its instructions. It provides information about how to have our sins forgiven and our souls saved. Many people instinctively believe in God and in life after death. Even if you don't, keep reading anyway! There is a Creator and we are accountable to Him. Sadly, we have all offended Him by sinning; no one is faultless. His commandments set a perfect standard and no one had hit the target; ¨All have sinned and come short of the glory of God¨ (The Bible; Romans 3.23). So we all need God's forgiveness to escape His eternal judgement. How can where the instructions are crucial. Some suppose that to be forgiven they need to perform religious duties, and not just at Christmas and Easter - not according to the instructions. Others feel that to be neighbourly and charitable is the way - not if you follow the instructions. Some believe that to reform their live would do it - not if you accept the instructions. The fact is that everything necessary to provide forgiveness was done for us. Midst all the bustle and partying of Christmas consider the reason for the season. It is a reminder that God sent His Son; He was born as a baby at Bethlehem; why? The Bible explains it like this. ¨Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners¨ (1 Timothy 1.15). To provide forgiveness of sins and salvation from judgement, God's Son came into the world to die on a cross for our sins. The Bible says so; ¨He bore our sins in his own body on the tree (the cross)¨, (1 Peter 2.24). Having died for our sins, He rose from the dead, and is a living Saviour. So God has taken the initiative to provvide forgiveness and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. Here are the instructions for benefiting from what He did. ¨Whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission (forgiveness) of sins¨ (Acts 10.43). ¨Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved¨ (Acts 16.31). So it is not effort on our part that will earn forgiveness. Christ did the work when He died and rose again. It is for us to repent of our sins and believe on Him. Do it now. This Christmas, don't ignore the instructions, for the Bible asks solemnly, ¨How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?¨ (Hebrews 2.3). J. Hay
