Jonah was a prophet. The Lord Jesus is “the prophet of the Highest” (Lk.1:16). He is “a great prophet”(Lk.12:41). Jonah was a servant of the Lord; a disobedient servant. The Lord Jesus was Jehovah’s perfect obedient servant.
Jonah was in the ship fast asleep in the middle of a mighty tempest on the sea. He was awakened, but could do nothing to calm the sea. The Lord Jesus was in the boat asleep, in the stern in the amid a great windstorm. They woke Him. “He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mk.4:39).
You will be challenged as you read this book and see the consequences of disobedience.
