Text of the tract

We need salvation

The Word of God says: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)

We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6)

It is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Romans 3:10-12)

For there is no difference. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36-37)

The way of salvation

God commendeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Sirs, what must I do to be saved? … Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. (Acts 16:30-31)

Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

The Lord Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life. (John 14:6. 5:24)

If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)

Now is the day of salvation

Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God; for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7)

God … now commandeth all men everywhere to repent, because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; concerning which he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:30-31)

Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live. (Hebrews 4:7. Isaiah 55:3)

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped thee; behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

How shall we escape if we neglect so great Salvation?

For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? (Hebrews 2:2-3)

The Lord Jesus said, Take heed, and beware of covetousness; for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no place to bestow my crops? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease. Eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. (Luke 12:15-21)

The Joy of Salvation

There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

The Lord Jesus said, All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are on. (John 10:27-30)

I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
